Dear friends new to my art site and blog,
Thank you for joining me on this fun, creative, slightly chaotic and new journey of mine. You know, I didn't even discover that I was an artist until adulthood. That being said, I've always had an obsession and fascination with color. My company LFB Color Consulting specializes in architectural color specification for homeowners, property developers and real estate investors. For the last fifteen years, everything I do professionally has revolved around color, specifying it, creating new palettes for fashion, image, wardrobing, television, media and now---most recently----the architectural world. This is all to say that being an artist was never part of my plan.
That's the magic of art, though; that is, you never know if and when you'll be roped into it as either a creator or a collector. I chose to create art beginning in 2014 after taking a class called Fashion Sketching. It wasn't until last November 2020 that I decided to launch this as a professional career. Some friends convinced me to sell my art prints at a holiday market, and the rest as they say is history. It has been a learning experience for sure. My art is very much evolving with each new piece that I create.
There's not a clearly defined style I see emerging just yet, but I'm enjoying this phase of experimenting with sketching techniques and a variety of papers, textures and media. This is just the beginning.
On this blog, you can expect to see a lot of my works in progress, the stories behind each piece, and then of course what materials I use.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions, comments or general feedback. I'd love to interact with you all here!
Here's to art and color,
Lauren B.
